Drum Circles at Landis Arboretum
Drumming is returning to Landis! Join us from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on the first and third Wednesdays of the month (June 4th and 18th, July 2nd and 16th, August 6th and 20th, and September 3th and 17th) We?ll be in or near the Peace Pavilion at Landis to drum with leader Art Teale. Art is a dedicated musician (his group is Waitin? on Bob) and a well-respected handyman in the area who welcomes seasoned drummers and newbies for a fun and relaxing experience. Please bring: A drum (or a plastic bucket that makes a nice sound when struck), or rhythm sticks or other rhythm instrument A chair or if you prefer, a lawn blanket to sit on Water (stay hydrated, people!) Bug stuff to repel both mosquitos and Location: The Shanti Vun Peace Garden Pavilion Registration: Registration: Drumming is free for everyone. The Albany Area Amateur Astronomers will be hosting the following star parties in 2025 at Landis Arboretum: Saturday, Mar 29 ? 8:00pm (new moon) Saturday, Apr 26 - 8:30pm (night before new moon) Saturday, May 24 ? 9:00pm (new moon -2) Wednesday, June 25 ? 9:00pm (new moon) Sunday, July 27 ? 9:00pm (new moon +2) Thursday, August 21 ? 7:30pm AAAA Annual Meeting and Stargazing (new moon -1) Sunday, Sept 21? 7:30pm (new moon) Saturday, October 25 ? 7:00pm (waxing crescent moon) Star parties are cancelled if the skies will be mostly cloudy. Come view the stars and planets in Landis' dark skies with members of the Albany Area Amateur Astronomers. A variety of telescopes will be set up for viewing the heavens, revealing nebulae, star clusters, galaxies, double stars, planets, and other celestial objects. Grain Thief has toured the North, South, East, and West of the U.S., playing stages large and small. They have graced the stages at the Greyfox Bluegrass Festival, Hempfest, Podunk Bluegrass Festival, Thomas Point Bluegrass Festival, Ossipee Valley Music Festival, UMS Music Festival, and Rockygrass, among others. Stardust Lodge reached #17 on the Folk DJ Radio Album Chart, #4 on the Roots Music Report Folk Album Chart, and #1 on the Roots Music Report Traditional Folk Album Chart.
